The young and promising plant-protection agronomist by education Mariia Adzhyiska was born in the Odesa region, in Bessarabia. Today she works as a sales manager of the Odesa office of the company LNZ Group.
The girl began her professional path while still a student. The profession of agronomist, in particular the specialty "Plant Protection", which Mariia obtained, attracted her in that such work is quite active, involves many trips, one can admire the scenery along the way, watch the sunset, and a special magic is the smell of moist earth during the sowing and, of course, communication with interesting people of different ages with different life experience.
Mariia Adzhyiska gained her first experience in sales while still a student: while studying, she worked at a distributor company that offered seed and plant protection products. At present she has been working at LNZ Group for over a year. She had heard for a long time about the holding, well-known on the Ukrainian market, which has its own production facilities and offers various crop protection products, so she gladly responded to the offer to work at this company and is very satisfied with the work.
It is not always easy for a woman in agro, as in any job
The agricultural business is a very important sector, and everyone involved in agriculture, regardless of gender, does important work, Mariia is convinced. For this is the support of the food security of Ukraine, which at present is especially relevant.
The manager says that for a woman in agro it happens differently — both difficult, and easy, and fun, but then, she admits, this turns into an interesting life story, which also energises.
It is important — to be useful in the work
Mariia's working day begins with phone calls and arranging meetings. She always tries to plan her working week. A manager's work requires creativity and sometimes non-standard approaches.
Mariia likes to communicate, to observe the development of plants and how they behave after treatments.
In the process of cooperation, sales and communications with clients in general, an understanding forms not only about their protection systems or the technological aspects of production, but also about the people themselves. During the war many challenges arose for agriculture, so one needs to change, take risks, seek new ways. Mariia considers that farmers are very brave people who work despite everything, and this inspires her. Agronomists share their experience, thereby making clear what motivates them personally, share the secrets of success in one business or another.

At the "Rodyna" agricultural cooperative they are satisfied with the cooperation with the company LNZ Group, in particular with Mariia. In general, notes Mariia Adzhyiska, the Odesa region is characterised by a dry climate, this is a zone of unstable moisture supply, so every year problems with drought arise.
Because of such conditions farmers try to change technologies, introduce new crops into the crop rotation. For example, earlier there was not so much flax in the crop rotation, but at present there is ever more of it in the fields.
How to be successful in the profession?
In Mariia's opinion, a manager does not necessarily have to be an agronomist, in the course of work one can learn everything, moreover with highly qualified agronomic support. At the company LNZ Group, twice a year agronomists conduct professional training for managers, where one can significantly build up one's knowledge and learn much new information valuable for work.
Mariia Adzhyiska advises those who are still obtaining the profession of agronomist or manager to follow their desire, to listen to themselves. She is convinced that the result is achieved by the one who tries, or by the one who in the process of these attempts finds their own.
In the busy schedule there is time for relaxation
A sales manager's work requires a lot of time for travel, meetings, communication, often 24/7, which can be exhausting, but Mariia tries to monitor her level of fatigue, plans her trips in advance, which saves energy and time.
She recovers thanks to rest and sport. After a busy working day she is calmed by music, meetings with friends or simply walks before bed, on weekends she likes to spend time by the sea.
Faith in a better future
It is very difficult to talk about the future, since the war is ongoing in Ukraine. But the girl would very much like the moment to come when all people will live in a peaceful country, where they can fully unlock their potential, and she will be that specialist who helps farms achieve effectiveness.
For Mariia happiness is when all those close and dear are alive and healthy, when everyone is together, without war, without situations that cannot be influenced. Also important is the satisfaction from what you do, in all aspects, when there is development and progress.
