To get a good harvest, an agricultural producer must ensure two factors: choose a suitable hybrid and the right technology for it.
This opinion was expressed in a comment to AgroPortal.ua by Oleksii Savchuk, agricultural technology development manager in the Central region at LNZ Group.
«The arithmetic of the future harvest is as follows: 30% is a hybrid properly selected for the soil type and climate zone, 30% is the technology for that hybrid, and 40% is the weather factor. While the farmer cannot influence the last factor, the first two, wisely combined, will ensure high yields», the expert states.
According to him, the soil at the Digital Field agricultural innovation testing ground is light, sandy loam with a low humus content and high acidity, so for the trials LNZ Group selected UNIVERSEED brand hybrids (EXPM032 FAO 220, EXPM015 FAO 260, EXPІ143 FAO 320, EXPH003 FAO 350) with a powerful root system, which ensured balanced nutrition under insufficient moisture, and a short stalk.
